T206 Printing Errors Collection (9)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,185.00

A fascinating group of nine T206 cards with factory printing errors; each of which has escaped almost all color processes in its printing, appearing black and white and grey, with yellow if that color was a part of the card's design. The reverse of each features a final Sweet Caporal (350-460 series) back. Includes the following: Ames (hands above head), Chase (port.), Doyle (bat), Elberfeld (field), Joss (2 cards, both pitching), Murphy (2 cards, both at bat), and Seymour (throw). All are clean and crisp, each with one or two heavy creases, with the exception of one of the two cards of Murphy, which has somehow escaped creasing. We believe these error cards to be printer's scraps which were never actually issued. It is likely all were hand-cut and saved from the trash by the printer or someone who worked for the printer. A very substantial group of unusual, interesting, and very striking printing errors from the T206 series. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $2,185.00
