1928 Negro League Program Chicago American Giants vs Detroit Stars

Two page fold-over 1928 program with boxing overcard cover of a Negro League game between the defending N.L. Champion Chicago American Giants and the Detroit Stars, held at Chicago's "White Sox Baseball Park." Preprinted lineups include Hall of Famer Willie Foster, Turkey Stearnes, future Hall of Famer Cristobal Torriente, and "Double Duty" Radcliffe in his rookie season. On this day (August 29, 1928), for a single admission price, spectators were presented with six boxing matches in addition to the Giants/Stars baseball game. Negro League scorecards from the 1920's are virtually non-existent. This is one of the earliest regular game programs for the Negro Leagues known to exist. Good condition. Reserve $100.
