Collection of six N173 Old Judge cabinet cards. An impressive looking group of these extremely substantial nineteenth-century rarities, each falling shy of Excellent condition, but still high quality and very attractive. Old Judge cabinet cards have always been revered by collectors as among the most desirable of all pre-1900 issues. This collection of six includes the following: Conway, Boston (Vg due to excessive corner rounding, otherwise Ex with tremendous photo contrast); Gunning, Phil. (Vg, no creases, water stain visible on reverse); Hughes, Brooklyn-Ball at Chest (writing with players name, position and team beneath photo on mount has been erased but is still barely visible, otherwise tremendous high grade Ex-Mt with perfect photo contrast, rare 1889 copyright date); Irwin, Phil.-Throwing (players name, position and team neatly written on mount below photo, two small border edge dings, no creases, nice photo, otherwise Ex); Johnston, Boston-Hands at Hips (Vg); and Nash, Boston-Hands on Knees (Vg).
