1923 Lections Frank Frisch

Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $920.00

Extremely rare Lections card of Hall of Famer Frank Frisch. This card is one of only two or three known examples of Frank Frisch. This series of cards is so rare it was actually unknown in the hobby until 1997, when a small group of approximately 30 cards was discovered in Albany, N.Y. The cards measure 4 x 2.5 inches, and are printed on thick cardboard stock with rounded corners. The front pictures an oval black-and-white player portrait with artwork of a baseball game-in-progress, and the Lections company logo. It is still unknown exactly how these cards were issued, but it is most likely they were a candy premium. An exceptionally rare sample card from the early 1920s, an era in which few card sets were issued. The card has a couple small marks near the left border, possibly part of printing and mentioned strictly for the sake of accuracy, otherwise in Excellent condition. Reserve $400. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $920.00
