Circa 1915 Eddie Collins Full-Size Decal Bat
Starting Bid - $800.00, Sold For - $1,610.00
Circa 1915 H&B Louisville Slugger 40 E.C. Eddie Collins store model decal bat features a colorful portrait of Collins on the barrel surrounded by his endorsement and advertising for Louisville Slugger bats. The full-size 33-inch bat has all labeling markings burned strikingly bold, dark, and perfect. The decal label is 98% complete and intact, with no restoration whatsoever, which these days has become somewhat of a rarity for portrait decal bats. The actual bat itself is a beautiful blond wood which is not only striking, but is unusual and especially ideal for a portrait decal bat. These decal bats are so often made of a darker wood which dulls the brightness of the decal, especially on full-size models. This lighter wood allows the decal to display brightly, significantly contributing to its visual appeal and exceptionally strong display value. We grade the decal an "8" on a scale of "1 to 10," which is far superior to the average decal bat. The bat itself is in Excellent condition, with just a slight hint of a separation crack between the label and the decal on the barrel noted for the sake of accuracy. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500. SOLD FOR $1,610.00
