Earle Combs Signed Photograph Personalized to "Ki Ki" Cuyler

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $805.00

Hall of Famer Earle Combs has beautifully signed and inscribed this black-and-white portrait photograph (8 x 10 inches) to fellow Hall of Famer "Ki Ki" Cuyler as follows: "To My Roomie Ki Ki, May I always prove myself worthy of your friendship, Sincerely Earle Combs." The signature and inscription are extremely neat and bold ("9"). The fact that Combs has signed this photograph to a fellow Hall of Famer gives it a unique and very interesting added dimension. Combs played 12 seasons for the NY Yankees, from 1924 to 1935 and compiled a very impressive lifetime batting average of .325. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1970 and died in 1976. The photograph has a few very small creases (most in the far corners and all mentioned strictly for the sake of extreme accuracy) and is otherwise in Excellent to Mint condition. LOAs from Mike Gutierrez/GAI and James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $805.00
