1952 Bowman Original Art #19 Bob Cain

Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $3,737.50

This is the actual original artwork to card #19 of Bob Cain of the St. Louis Browns from the 1952 Bowman series. The Bowman sets from the early 1950s are highly regarded in part for their use of original paintings. This is a fine example of an original Bowman artwork used in the production of this classic baseball series. Bob Cain, like the beloved St. Louis Browns for which he toiled in 1952, has been forgotten by most, but as a member of the legendary Browns, and as a member of the 1952 Bowman set, he remains immortal. Normal glue marks from production process on reverse. Very tiny tear (approx. one-eighth of an inch) in upper left corner is virtually imperceptible and is mentioned strictly for the sake of accuracy. Clean and crisp with bright colors. The artwork measures 6.25 x 4.25 inches and is in overall Excellent condition. Accompanied by an example of the issued card. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $3,737.50
