1920 Babe Ruth Headin' Home Lobby Card
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $920.00
Sepia-toned lobby card (14 x 11 inches) from the 1920 Baumann and Kessel Pictures release of Headin' Home features Babe Ruth in street clothes. Headin' Home lobby cards are extremely rare. Only one complete set has ever surfaced, approximately ten years ago in a Christie's auction (where the set sold for over $10,000), and this is one of those eight cards. Presumably a few additional single cards are in collectors' hands. Headin' Home was the first of the two feature films Ruth starred in during his career; the other was The Babe Comes Home in 1927. The lobby card has four tiny pinholes in the corners and a couple of very small creases in the upper right and left corners. These are extremely minor faults which do not in the least detract from the lobby card's otherwise Excellent to Near Mint condition. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $920.00
