1950 James Cagney Movie Prop

Starting Bid - $100.00, Sold For - $575.00

Original movie prop from Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye, the 1950 film staring tough guy James Cagney in the lead, as an escaped convict who forges his way into the ranks of Mob chieftains, killing anyone who gets in his way. Offered is the original "State Prison Record" movie prop used in the film, with mug shot photos of Cagney portraying his character Ralph Cotter. The movie prop department even went to the trouble of filling out all fields, with some of the information supplied being very amusing ("Conduct: Aggressive, anti-social, symptoms of paranoia" as well as the recording of his assault on a prisoner, an escape attempt, and an assault on a guard in the "Remarks" section). The State Prison Record measures 8.5 x 11.25 inches and is in Excellent condition, with a few very light creases along the borders. A unique piece of movie memorabilia related to one of Cagney's signature roles, ideal for display, and which very effectively captures the spirit of Cagney's tough guy movie persona. Reserve $100. Estimate $200/$400. SOLD FOR $575.00
