Bob Dylan Signed High School Yearbook
Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $6,325.00
"Robert Zimmerman: To join Little Richard - Latin Club 2; Social Studies Club 4" is how Bob Dylan is memorialized in this personally signed copy of the 1959 Hibbing (MN) High School yearbook. The future Rock-n-Roll legend has signed to the book's original owner on page 5: "Dear Pat,/I bet your/mad that school's/ending huh? It's been/great having you in here but/we had more fun in dramatics./There'll never be another class like/that. And out at Judy's was fun too;/only if I walked in on you when you/were in the bathroom, I'm so sorry. I/think it was you. It was a blast rehearsing/that play in speech; you look pretty/good as a boy-(that's a compliment.)/Well Pat, I wish to you & Tom the best of/luck in everything like that; maybe/I'll see you this summer./A Sincere Friend,/Bob Z." Dylan's own senior picture appears on page 76, and the baby-faced photo challenges us to recognize him as a future leader of protest and rebellion. Dylan's high school sweetheart, Echo Helstrom, the original "Girl From North Country," appears on page 42. The blue ink inscription from Dylan is in a small, but very neat hand. The writing is legible; however there are some shadows on the page from an inscription pressed through from the previous page. The salutation and signature though are in an area clear of imperfections. The cover and binding show normal wear at the edges from age and handling. The yearbook is overall in Excellent condition, with interior pages tight, clean, and crisp. A remarkable signed keepsake from the high school days of a Rock and Folk music immortal. Very Good condition. LOA from James Spence, Steve Grad and John Reznikoff/PSA DNA. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$4,000. SOLD FOR $6,325.00
