1974 Frank Sinatra Limited Edition LeRoy Neiman Lithograph (Artist Proof)
Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $1,380.00
"Sinatra In Concert" was one of Neiman's earliest limited edition signed lithographs, predating the era of his full-color serigraphs. Issued as a limited edition of 300, this example is not numbered, and is notated "AP" in the lower left, designating this as an artist proof. The lithograph is flawlessly signed in the lower right by artist LeRoy Neiman ("10"). Sinatra was one of Neiman's favorite subjects. Neiman has captured Sinatra in a uniquely primitive style which captures the essence of Sinatra with very little detail. The crisp printed title contrasts with the intentionally rough quality of the artwork, giving the lithograph the impression of a concert poster, and emphasizing the intent of Nieman's impressionistic vision. This design was, in fact, used by Sinatra as a concert poster, and was Sinatra's touring logo in 1974. The lithograph measures exactly 21 x 29 inches. Near Mint condition. Reserve $300. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $1,380.00
