Spectacular original cover painting for the June 4, 1938 issue of Collier's, beautifully displaying the late art deco style of the period. The humorous image features a woman with a large hat and veil which is now unexpectedly doubling as a butterfly cage. This is an exceptional example of artist Joro Fabry's distinctive and whimsical style. The cover painting is accompanied by an original copy of the June 4, 1938 issue of Collier's on which this work appeared. Collier's, like the Saturday Evening Post, was one of the nation's premier magazines, and was especially noted for showcasing the talents of America's most highly regarded illustrators. Watercolor on paper signed and dated in the lower right, and measuring 14 x 14 inches.
