1958 Topps "Gunsmoke" Original Card Artwork

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $575.00

Original 1958 Topps "Gunsmoke" card artwork (3-7/8 x 4-7/8 inches). This artwork was used to produce card #12, entitled "Deadly Aim," from this popular set based on the hit CBS television series. The full-color flexichrome original artwork features Matt Dillon, Marshal of Dodge City and the 1950s symbol of frontier justice, displaying his deadly marksman form. Though he preferred to handle the many cattle rustlers, lynch mobs, fugitives, stagecoach bandits, and gunslingers of Dodge City without use of a gun, those who did not cooperate were treated accordingly. The artwork is crystal clear and in flawless Near Mint to Mint condition. Accompanied by two examples of the issued cards, which are ideal for display (front and back) with the original artwork. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $575.00
