1961-1963 Orlando Cepeda Pro Model Bat

This Adirondack model 114B shows heavy game use including stitch and cleat marks. The handle has a lifted crack approximately fifteen inches long. The knob end has Cepeda's player number "30" written in black marker, which has faded over time but is still legible. The 1958 Rookie of the Year and 1967 National League MVP had a tremendous seventeen-year Major League career. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1999, Cepeda compiled an impressive record of 379 home runs, 1,365 RBIs and a .297 lifetime batting average. This early Cepeda bat dates from his finest seasons in the major leagues. In 1961 Cepeda hit 46 home runs with 142 RBIs; in 1962 he hit 35 home runs with 114 RBIs; in 1963 he hit 34 home runs with 97 RBIs. He also batted over .300 in each of these seasons.
