1980-1983 Rod Carew Pro Model Bat
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $522.00
Rod Carew Louisville Slugger signature model F147 shows evidence of medium game use including ball and bat rack marks with deadwood on the face of the barrel (hairline crack on the deadwood area). The cracked handle (the approx. 10-inch crack has been neatly repaired, and is all but invisible) has a medium coat of pine tar. Carew's player number "29" is written on the knob end in black marker. H&B shipping records indicate delivery of two orders of these bats (twelve bats per order) to Carew on 9/8/82 and 9/9/82. Carew batted .292 in 1967 and was named AL Rookie of the Year. He hit .273 in 1968, but followed with fifteen consecutive seasons over .300. Only Ty Cobb, Stan Musial, and Honus Wagner have exceeded that achievement. Carew won seven American League batting championships, and won them by consistently larger margins than anyone except Rogers Hornsby. Length: 34.5 inches. Weight: 31 ounces. SCD Authentic Grade: A5. LOAs from Dave Bushing/SCD Authentic and John Taube & Vince Malta/PSA DNA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $522.00
