1998-2001 Greg Maddux Pro Model Bat
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $812.00
One of the most dominating pitchers of our time, Greg Maddux won four straight Cy Young Awards in the 1990s, and lead the Atlanta Braves to the postseason 11 straight times from 1993 to 2003. Four times in his career he posted an ERA two runs below his league's average, and he has won at least 15 games in 16 consecutive seasons, tying a mark held by Cy Young. While revered for his efforts on the mound, Maddux has occasion to face opposing pitchers as well. Among pitchers, Maddux is regarded as one of the game's better-hitting pitchers. This Rawlings model 155B bat shows evidence of heavy game use. The barrel is covered with ball stitch, blue ball transfer, and black bat-rack marks. The lower handle has a light coat of pine tar and the top of the handle has a crack (approx. 4 inches). Maddux's player number "31" is written on both the knob and barrel end in black marker. Length: 33.75 inches. Weight: 31.5 ounces. SCD Authentic Grade: A7. An ideal game bat used by this first-ballot Hall of Fame pitcher. LOAs from Dave Bushing/SCD Authentic and John Taube & Vince Malta/PSA DNA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $812.00
