1999 Roger Clemens Pro Model Bat

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $1,044.00

Rawlings model CD44 has "Rocket" in block letters on the barrel. The bat exhibits heavy game use including ball, stitch, and bat rack marks along the barrel. The cracked handle (approx. 5 inches) has a light coat of pine tar. The model number "CD44," batch code "507" and year code "99" are all stamped on the knob. The bat weight and length are written on the knob end in black marker. On June 13, 2003, the Yankees' Roger Clemens reached two significant career milestones at Yankee Stadium. "The Rocket" became only the twenty-first pitcher in baseball history to win 300 games, and only the third pitcher in the history of the game to reach the 4,000 career strikeout mark. (Only Nolan Ryan and Steve Carlton had achieved this milestone previously.) Rarely, if ever, have two such important career milestones been achieved in the same contest. Clemens will go down in baseball history as one of the greatest pitchers to ever take the mound. Length: 34.5 inches. Weight: 32 ounces. SCD Authentic Grade: A8. LOAs from Dave Bushing/SCD Authentic and John Taube & Vince Malta/PSA DNA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,044.00
