2001 Barry Bonds Signed Pro Model Bat (73 HR Season)
Starting Bid - $1,500.00, Sold For - $6,380.00
This uncracked Sam Bat model 2K1 bat from the historic record-setting 2001 season shows evidence of considerable game use including heavy ball, stitch, and cleat marks. Bonds has spiral taped and criss-crossed the handle (approx. 15 inches) to enhance the grip. There is a light coat of pine tar on the taped handle. The Sam Bat trademark "Canadian Leaf" sticker is on the knob end. The notations "34 - 31.7 oz - 08 20 01 - 2K1 - B.B." are written on the barrel end in black marker. The notations represent bat length, weight, date of manufacture, model number, and Barry's initials, respectively. Bonds signed the bat ("7") in silver paint pen along the barrel. The 2001 season catapulted Barry Bonds from being a baseball star into a baseball legend. An eleven-time all-star, Bonds has earned eight Gold Glove awards for his defensive skills, been named the NL MVP five times, and will very likely be remembered as the single greatest player to ever take the field. A perfect gamer from the greatest season of one of baseball's modern-day superstars, who is currently on pace to break Hank Aaron's all-time career home run record of 755. Length: 34 inches. Weight: 31.7 ounces. SCD Authentic Grade: A8. LOAs from Dave Bushing/SCD Authentic and John Taube & Vince Malta/PSA DNA. Reserve $1,500. Estimate $3,000/$5,000. SOLD FOR $6,380.00
