Collection of twenty-four pre-1900 cards comprised of fourteen N284 Buchner Gold Coin Tobacco and ten N172 Old Judge. 1) 1887 N284 Gold Coin (14 cards): Glasscock Vg-Ex (fielding grounder) and Porter (SGC VG 3). The remaining twelve are in Good to Vg condition but are blank-backed and on thin stock (except two on thicker stock). These twelve cards, which appear to have been carefully hand cut from a sheet or advertising poster, include: Andrews (hands at waist), Craig, Crowley, Dorgan (right field), Esterbrook, Fulmer, Gerhardt, Hankinson, Nelson, Porter, Rooks, Whitney. 2) 1887-1889 N172 Old Judge (10 cards): Cal. Brown (NY NL) ad trimmed at bottom, Darnbrough (Denver), Dolan (Denver), Fagan (Denver), Hoffman (Denver), McClellan (Denver), McVey (Denver), two Silch (catching and throwing, Denver), and one (1889 copyright) unidentified (name completely faded or never present). Condition ranges from Good to Very Good, with scrapbook removal remnants, and very light glue stains on the blank backs of all but a few, which are common condition flaws to find when dealing with groups of Old Judges.
