1972-1973 Tom Heinsohn NBA Coach of the Year Award

Official NBA Coach of the Year trophy presented to Tom Heinsohn in 1972-1973. Fifteen years after earning the Rookie of the Year honors as a player, Tommy Heinsohn was named Coach of the Year after leading the Boston Celtics to the best record in the NBA at 68-14, including a 32-8 showing on the road, the second-best mark of all time. Their .829 winning percentage overall was the third highest ever. In honor of this great achievement, Heinsohn was presented with this magnificent trophy, which stands a majestic 3.5 feet tall. The plaque reads "National Basketball Association Coach Of The Year Tom Heinsohn 1972-1973." The trophy also has five 6-inch tall basketball figures, as well as one large 22-inch figure standing on top of the brass bowl. The trophy is in EX condition, with only slight scratches found along some of the wooden edges. Weight: 12 lbs. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500. SOLD FOR $2,088.00
