Circa 1990 Wayne Gretzky Game-Used and Signed Hockey Stick
Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $1,392.00
This Easton aluminum hockey stick was used by Gretzky during his career with the Los Angeles Kings. Gretzky's name is stenciled below the "Jack Gripper" foam handle and is stamped at the top of the blade where the wood and aluminum meet as well. On the top of the handle the equipment manager has written "A.E. 77" in black marker. The black tape wrapped around the blade is well worn and has evidence of white powder, which is a trademark of Gretzky gamers. The stick exhibits heavy game use, including blue and red streak marks along the lower shaft. The stick has been signed "Wayne Gretzky 99" ("8") in black ink on the lower portion of the shaft where the wood and aluminum meet. Wayne Gretzky dominated his sport like no other during his twenty-year career, establishing NHL single-season and career marks for goals, assists and points. The "Great One" finished his splendid career with 894 goals, 1,963 assists and 2,857 points, all records that shattered the previous marks and which may never be broken. LOA from James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $1,392.00
