The Declaration of Independence Copy Signed by Presidents and First Ladies
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,508.00
Souvenir copy of the Declaration of Independence signed by three former Presidents and four First Ladies. On heavy parchment-like paper, the entire Declaration is printed in the upper half, with only John Hancock's facsimile signature below, thus leaving room for the following signatures to be added (as if signing the Declaration) in the blank section below: "Betty B. Ford," "Gerald R. Ford," "Rosalynn Carter," "Jimmy Carter," "Lady Bird Johnson," "Richard Nixon," "Jacqueline Kennedy." Each signature is in black Sharpie with the exception of Jacqueline Kennedy, who has signed in blue ink. Signatures are virtually flawless ("9/10"), large, bold, and neatly spaced. Presidential and First Lady signatures are always of interest to collectors. The effort and ingenuity displayed in the creation of this keepsake, and the number of signatures of leaders collected together, make this a particularly interesting and unique signed item which is ideal for framing and display. Near Mint condition. LOA from James Spence, Steve Grad & John Reznikoff/PSA DNA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,500/$2,500. SOLD FOR $1,508.00
