Extraordinary signed professional photograph of inventor Thomas A. Edison ("10") posed in front of the Edison Laboratory with employees in July 1916. Edison has flawlessly signed the mount beneath the sepia-tone photograph (10.5 x 12 inches). The photograph is copyrighted "T. A. E." (Thomas Alva Edison) in the lower right, along with a copyright date of "7-20-16." This was very likely an official Edison Laboratories portrait commissioned by Edison for special presentation, and all of the workers very likely received signed display photographs as keepsakes. This is an outstanding and very unique work-related image with flawless contrast and clarity. Near Mint condition. Beautifully matted and framed to total dimensions of 19 x 17.5 inches.
