1927 Charles Lindbergh Signed Letter, Photo, & Banquet Program (3)
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,320.00
Charles Lindbergh signed 1927 banquet program, typed signed 1927 letter, and signed photograph. A tremendous presentation of three signed Charles Lindbergh pieces, two signed in the year of his historic 1927 solo flight from New York to Paris, the third probably also signed in 1927 but undated. The banquet program (8 x 5 inches) is signed "C.A. Lindbergh." The program features a striking bust portrait of Lindbergh in flight helmet and goggles around his neck. The banquet was hosted by the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce Aviation Committee at the Masonic Temple in Oklahoma City on Sept. 28, 1927. Signature at the lower right ("7/8"). The program is framed together with a typewritten letter signed "C. A. Lindbergh" written to Oscar Janson of the Order of Northern Lights, based in Providence, Rhode Island, dated December 2, 1927. Lindbergh writes Janson: "I wish to take this opportunity of thanking you for the honor done me in making me an honorary member of the Order of Northern Lights. Also I would express my thanks for all the kindness shown me on the occasion of my recent visit to Providence. Sincerely yours C. A. Lindbergh" ("8"). Both pieces are matted and framed with a beautiful sepia toned 8 x 10 portrait of Lindbergh posing in front of the Spirit of St. Louis. The photograph is signed in fountain pen in the lower right "To Vincent Vigouroux, Charles A. Lindbergh" ("8"), with very strong signature and salutation not contrasting particularly well against the dark background of the original gelatin print photograph. All three items are in Excellent to Mint condition, and together create an extraordinary signed display and tribute to the legendary aviator. Three very high quality signed Lindbergh pieces. All magnificently matted and framed together to total dimensions of 17.5 x 28 inches. LOA from James Spence, Steve Grad & John Reznikoff/PSA DNA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500.
