1956-1990 United States Treasury Proof Set Collection (36)

Collection of thirty-six different uncirculated United States Treasury Department issued proof sets including a complete run from 1956 to 1990. Each proof set includes a penny, nickel, dime, quarter, and half-dollar coin. These sets were made available for sale by the U.S. Treasury Department to collectors each year, a tradition which continues to this day. All sets are in their original U.S. Mint issued packaging unless noted. This collection includes one proof set for each of the following years unless noted in parentheses. Proof Sets: 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961 (the quarter and half dollar are slightly tarnished), 1962, 1963 (the quarter and half dollar is slightly tarnished), 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969 (2, Philadelphia and Denver Mint sets), 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, and 1990. The 1956 to 1965, and 1969 sets are in the original government flat packs and the coins are encased in a polyethylene-coated cellophane. The 1966, 1967, 1968 and 1970 to 1990 are each housed in a hard plastic cases with a slipcase. This is a very substantial collection of these commemorative U.S. proof sets. Total 36 sets.
