1963 Beatles Signed Magazine Cover
Starting Bid - $5,000.00, Sold For - $29,000.00
Absolutely stunning, pristinely preserved 1963 The Beatles magazine cover (7 x 10 inches) signed by each member of The Beatles. According to the detailed report by world-famous Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo, the signatures on this cover date from August/September 1963. The publication for which this piece served as the cover was issued by PYX Productions, and was a thirty-page magazine containing promo photos of the group and brief biographical information. The image features a classic shot of the mop-topped quartet in matching collarless suits beneath the magazine's 1.5-inch banner. The members have signed above or across (Ringo) their images in bold, black ink as follows: "Paul McCartney," George Harrison," "John Lennon," "Ringo Starr xxx". Each signature is large and bold, grading a virtually flawless "9" on a scale of "1" to "10". The magazine cover is a particularly ideal item for a vintage set of Beatles signatures, not just because of its obvious spectacular display value, but because it dates to the beginning of the band's emergence as a popular group a full year before their inaugural visit to the U.S. and appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. The striking image, beautiful signatures and exemplary condition (minor creasing visible only when tilted) make this an ideal vintage signed Beatles display, and one of the most impressive signed pieces in existence from the earliest days of Liverpool's Finest. Beautifully matted and framed to dimensions of 14.5 x 17 inches. LOAs from renowned Beatle authority Frank Caiazzo, and James Spence, Steve Grad & John Reznikoff/PSA DNA. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000/$15,000. SOLD FOR $29,000.00
