1960s Keith Richards Autograph Letter Also Signed by Mick Jagger
Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $1,160.00
The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards and Mick Jagger don't sound anything like the parent-frightening monsters they were famous for being when they wrote this response to an invitation by a fan in the 1960s. The one-page letter, handwritten by Keith Richards, and also signed by Mick Jagger, is written in blue ballpoint pen on Grand Hotel of Torquay, England, stationery (6.5 x 8 inches): "Dear Mary, Thanks very much for the letter and the invitation. Maybe next time we're down that way. Must go, Love, Keith" ("9"). The letter is also signed at the bottom by "Mick Jagger" ("8"). Though obviously written quickly, the writing is perfectly legible and the signatures are large and clear. The page exhibits some light staining and wrinkling, and has one horizontal and one vertical fold that are just beginning to separate at the edges. These imperfections, however, do not detract from the overall appearance and integrity of the piece. In the 1960s, especially in the very early days, the Stones would occasionally find time to personally respond to fans. This is a very rare, early example, personally written by Keith Richards, and signed by both leaders of the legendary Rolling Stones. Good Condition. LOA from James Spence, Steve Grad & John Reznikoff/PSA DNA. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $1,160.00
