1950 Bowman Wild West Original Card Artwork

In 1950 the Bowman Gum Company issued the classic "Wild West" series featuring beautiful color artwork capturing the spirit of the Old West. The exceptional color artwork and remarkable detail made this set a smash hit immediately. This gorgeous original artwork (5 x 6-1/8 inches) was used to make card #A-35 from the Wild West set. The image is called "Bridge Disaster" and pictures a train and its engineers free-falling into a cavern as the bridge collapses. The artwork is on a thick cardboard stock and is beautifully executed with extraordinary detail. The artwork is in Near Mint condition, and is accompanied by an example of the issued card.
