1902-1911 W600 Sporting Life Cabinet Card Collection (9)

Starting Bid - $2,500.00, Sold For - $15,080.00

Collection of nine W600 Sporting Life cabinets comprised exclusively of Hall of Famers: Mordecai Brown (Vg-Ex/Ex), John Chesbro (tack hole at the top border and some pinpoint age spotting otherwise Vg-Ex), Fred Clarke (touch of paper loss and his name neatly written in black ink on the reverse otherwise Ex to Ex-Mt), Sam Crawford (two nickel-sized spots of paper residue and a small touch of paper loss in the upper right corner, both on the back otherwise Ex to Ex-Mt), Clark Griffith (Gd-Vg), Hugh Jennings (three tack holes at the top border and some pinpoint age spotting otherwise Vg), Addie Joss (Vg), Nap Lajoie (some wear along the edges and a light stain in the lower right corner on the back otherwise Vg-Ex), and Cy Young (tack hole at the top border and some pinpoint age spotting, otherwise Vg-Ex/Ex). Visually these cards are far more appealing than suggested by their technically accurate grades. W600s are one of the rarest sets from the early part of the century, and one of the most substantial and well-made card sets ever produced. W600 Hall of Famers, in particular, have always been highly prized by serious collectors. This is a very rare assembly of nine Hall of Famers from this extraordinary issue. Total 9 cards. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000/$7,500. SOLD FOR $15,080.00
