1904-1936 Baseball Game Card and Box Collection

Presented is a collection of baseball game playing cards (only some featuring players) and the boxes in which they were issued. The boxes include several different styles of circa 1906 Fan Craze games; the cards are highlighted by fifteen Fan Craze player cards and a complete fifty-card deck of 1913 Parker Brothers playing cards which features Nap Lajoie at bat on the reverse. 1) WG3 1906 Fan Craze National League Player cards (15 assorted, 5 different, all Brooklyn Dodgers): Bergen (3), Casey (2), Lumley (4), Maloney (2) and McIntire (4). All are Ex-Mt to Near Mint except one each of Bergen, Lumley, and McIntire, which are Gd, and one Bergen is Ex. 2) WG8 1936 S&S game player cards: 14 assorted cards (9 different) including Appling, Cronin, Foxx, Frisch (2), Klein and Medwick. All Nr/Mt or better. 3) WG5 "The National Game" playing card of Nap Rucker (Nr/Mt). 4) Fan Craze boxed set, includes instructions, complete 48-card game card set (no players pictured on this deck, 3 cards with tack holes, all others Ex-Mt), wood game board ("Fan Craze" logo in infield). Box has labeled appliqué (Longman & Martinez) and is Vg-Ex, firm, but split at one edge. 5) Same as previous, but missing one game card. Game cards are overall Ex, game board is without logo. Box is Ex. 6) Fan Craze boxed partial set including wood game board (with "Fan Craze" infield logo), instruction sheet and 43 assorted game cards (no player style). Box is Gd. 7) Fan Craze boxed set including wood game board (without logo), complete set of 48 game cards, all Vg-Ex. Box is Good. 8) Fan Craze game board (with "Fan Craze" logo) and complete set of 48 game cards (mostly Good). 7) 1906 Fan Craze "Art Series" National League edition box with Clarence Beaumont card on box (Fair). 8) Two 1914 "All-Star Card Base Ball" boxes from the "Polo Grounds" playing card set (each 4 x 5.5 x 1 inches). One is Ex+ and the other is Vg-Ex. No cards. 9) 1913 Parker Brothers boxed game, game board is Ex-Mt, includes instructions, and includes all fifty game cards, each with blue-tone picture of Nap Lajoie on reverse (all Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt), plus a sample red-backed game card with Lajoie on reverse from a different edition. Box is Vg. This is a very interesting and extensive collection of baseball game related cards and boxes. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,276.00
