1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle GAI NM 7
Starting Bid - $4,000.00, Sold For - $17,400.00
Graded NM 7 by GAI. Extremely attractive, crisp, clean, high-grade example of 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. One of card collecting's greatest classics, Mantle's Topps rookie card is the key to the 1952 Topps set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable postwar baseball card. This is a magnificent example with brilliant colors. The deep blue background, which is so prone to wear, is exceptionally strong and virtually unimprovable. The white interlocking "NY" on the front of Mickey's cap contrasts sharply against the dark navy blue of his cap. The corners are extremely strong and square, each with only the slightest touch of wear visible under magnification. Centered 60/40 left to right and 45/55 top and bottom. This is a spectacularly bright, fresh, clean, example of Mickey Mantle's most celebrated card. Near Mint condition. Reserve $4,000. Estimate $8,000/$12,000. SOLD FOR $17,400.00
