1952 Bowman Uncut Sheet Including Willie Mays
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,508.00
1952 Bowman baseball uncut sheet with twenty-eight different final series cards including Willie Mays. This is a final production sheet with fully printed backs. The cards appearing on this sheet are: #217 Casey Stengel, 218 Willie Mays, 219-222, 225-231, 234-240, 243-249 and 252 Frank Crosetti. This twenty-eight-card sheet is a partial sheet as 1952 Bowmans were printed in thirty-six-card uncut sheets, nine cards across and four down. The front of the sheet has an Excellent appearance, with a few minor faults upon very close inspection; 75% of the cards, including the key card #218 Willie Mays, are in Nr/Mt condition when viewed from the front. On the reverse of the sheet are seven small, thin strips of tape (on all four corners and three of the edges) and remnants of tape removal on several interior cards, all related to the sheet being mounted onto a matting when framed long ago. Approximately 98% of the back of the sheet is unaffected. A few very minor creases are primarily noticeable from the reverse (no creases in Mays, but tape does touch upper left corner of reverse). Despite imperfections, this sheet has a tremendous display value and an overall Excellent appearance. This is a rare, original Bowman baseball uncut sheet highlighted by one of the key Hall of Famers in the set. It is also a rarely offered, relatively affordable, yet still ideal for display, alternative to a problem-free sheet. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,508.00
