1962 Topps Uncut Proof Sheet with Willie Mays
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $928.00
1962 Topps uncut proof sheet features the following thirty-three cards: #372, 374, 376, 377, 378, 379, 380, 387 Brock rookie card, 394 Aaron AS, 395 Mays AS, 396 F. Robinson AS, 397, 398 Drysdale AS, 404, 405, 406, 407, 409, 410, 411, 412, 414, 417, 421, 423, 425 Yaz, 427, 431, 434, 437, 441, 443, and 445. 1962 Topps proof sheets are easily distinguished from production sheets by their blank backs and the fact they have only thirty-three cards per sheet (as opposed to 132 cards for production sheets), with large margin areas and color proofing bars. The small find of these 1962 Topps proof sheets which turned up approximately fifteen years ago has long since disappeared into collections. Examples are rarely seen today. This is a particularly attractive 1962 Topps proof sheet, one of the few from the find with significant stars. The color bars appear at the top and bottom of the sheet. Some tape at edges and glue marks on reverse of sheet relate to use by Topps, and have no impact on the display value or overall Near Mint appearance of the sheet, with all interior cards appearing Mint. Dimensions: 29 x 21 inches. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $928.00
