1963 Post Sugar Crisp Cereal Unopened Box
Starting Bid - $100.00, Sold For - $1,740.00
In 1963, if you were walking down the supermarket aisle in the cereal section, you would have seen unopened boxes of "Sugar Crisp," exactly as offered in this lot, each with six Post cereal cards on the back. Of course, you would have eaten the cereal and cut the cards off the box, or maybe even thrown the whole box out, but one collector chose to keep a box intact and unopened. It has been carefully guarded from the elements and the breakfast table for forty-two years. Offered is a complete unopened box of Post "Sugar Crisp" cereal with six cards on the back, preserved in a most improbable and original state. We can't imagine that too many boxes have survived unopened like this. We've never seen another. The cards on the box are #20, 52, 91, 107, 131 F. Robinson and 175. Thirty-three cent price appears on top flap. The box is in overall Near Mint condition. Reserve $100. Estimate $200/$400. SOLD FOR $1,740.00
