1930 Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Tony Lazzeri, Benny Bengough Signed Baseball
Starting Bid - $800.00, Sold For - $4,640.00
Red and black stitched "American League" ball is beautifully signed on the sweet spot by Babe Ruth ("6/7") and Lou Gehrig ("5") on a side panel. Signed below Gehrig, on the same side panel, is Benny Bengough ("6"), and a separate panel is signed by Tony Lazzeri ("4" with tiny area of soiling affecting top of "e" in "Lazzeri"). Neatly penned vintage side panel notations reading "St. Petersburg, Fl. March 1930 Braves vs. Yankees 6-5 favor of Yanks" indicate this ball was signed during spring training in 1930. The ball is slightly off-white and in overall about Excellent condition. Displays beautifully as a Ruth single. This is a very solid medium-grade ball with signatures of four elite Yankees from the 1930s. LOAs from Mike Gutierrez/GAI and James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500.
