1934 Tour of Japan Signed Baseball with Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig

Starting Bid - $1,500.00, Sold For - $4,930.00

In 1934 Connie Mack led a group of Major League players on a highly publicized postseason goodwill Tour of Japan. That much celebrated tour is especially noteworthy as it was the only overseas tour in which both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig participated. Offered is a red-and-black stitched Official National League (Heydler) ball signed in blue and black ink by 13 members of that famous 1934 overseas tour. Babe Ruth's signature majestically graces the sweet spot and grades between a "6" and a "7." Other signatures include Lou Gehrig ("6"), Connie Mack ("4"), Jimmie Foxx ("8"), Lefty O'Doul ("3"), Earl Averill ("5"), Lefty Grove ("5"), Bing Miller ("3"), Rabbit Warstler ("6"), John Quinn ("4"), Joe Cascarella ("3"), and two others we could not identify. The particularly impressive Ruth signature makes this ball ideal for display. The ball is lightly soiled and otherwise in Excellent condition overall, with bold and distinct stampings. LOAs from James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA and Mike Gutierrez/GAI. Reserve $1,500. Estimate $3,000/$5,000. SOLD FOR $4,930.00
