1948 New York Yankees Team-Signed Baseball
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,088.00
Official American League (Harridge) baseball is signed in blue ink by the following twenty-six members of the 1948 New York Yankees: Berra (signed "Larry," "9"), Bevens, Brown, Byrne, Chandler (ss), Crosetti, DiMaggio (sweet spot, "9," AL MVP), Drews, Embree, Frey, Gumpert, Henrich, Hiller, B. Johnson, Keller, Lindell, Lollar, Mapes, McQuinn, Niarhos, Raschi, Reynolds, Rizzuto ("9"), Shea, Souchock, and Stirnweiss. The small notation "1947 NY Yankees" is written on the bottom of a side panel, although the ball is indeed a 1948 team roster and not a 1947 team roster. All of the signatures are very bold, strong and uniform in grade, across the board ranging from "9" to "10" on a scale of "1 to 10." The ball's stampings are very slightly faded but are still bold and crisp. The ball has a very light coat of protective shellac. This is a tremendous high-grade Yankees team-signed ball. In Near Mint condition. LOAs from James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA and Mike Guterriez/GAI. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $2,088.00
