2001 Seattle Mariners Team-Signed Bat
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $464.00
The 2001 Seattle Mariners' 116 victories set the record for most wins in a season for an American League club, bettering the mark of 114 set by the already legendary 1998 Yankees. This Rawlings "Big Stick" black bat is beautifully signed in gold paint pen by thirty-two members of the 2001 Seattle Mariners including Ichiro Suzuki, Lou Piniella, Bret Boone, Edgar Martinez, Brett Tomko, Carlos Guillen, Stan Javier, Paul Abbott, Dan Wilson, Mark McLemore, David Bell, Justin Kame, Freddy Garcia, Mike Cameron, Joel Pineiro, Kazuhiro Sasaki, Ryan Franklin, Charles Gipson, Norm Charlton, Jose Paniagua, Tom Lampkin, John Halama, Jeff Nelson, Dennis Stark, etc. The signatures grade a "9" overall. With a virtually unknown outfielder from Japan named Ichiro Suzuki joining the team, the Seattle Mariners opened the 2001 season as underdogs to the defending division champion Oakland Athletics. Ichiro was named Rookie of the Year as well as Most Valuable Player, second-year Mariner Bret Boone enjoyed the best season by a second baseman in American League history, and the 2001 Mariners established themselves as one of the greatest teams in modern baseball history. This bat is a magnificent keepsake of the Mariners' legendary 2001 season. LOAs from Mike Gutierrez/GAI and James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $464.00
