Two 1890s Heubach Baseball Figurines (Large Variety)

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $3,190.00

This pair of brightly painted porcelain statues, produced in Germany by Heubach during the 1890s, depicts both a pitcher and batter in similar style period uniforms. The pitcher, dressed in blue, holds a ball in front of his chest while the batter, dressed in red, stands at the plate with bat in hand. Each statue measures twelve inches in height. Both statues are in Near Mint condition with the batter's bat appearing to be original from time of issue. These scarce figures were produced in a number of different sizes, mostly smaller. The larger figures, such as these, are both rarer, probably because they were far more expensive than the smaller versions, and also the more impressive for display. An extremely attractive pair of large nineteenth-century Heubach baseball figurines in flawless original condition. Rarely found this nice. Total 2 figures. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $3,190.00
