1926 New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals World Series Programs (2)
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,508.00
Set of 1926 World Series programs, one issued at New York, and one issued at St. Louis. 1) The cover of the program issued in New York features portraits of managers Miller Huggins and Rogers Hornsby. Interior pages include composite photos of the Yankees and Cardinals. Neatly scored in pencil from Game 4 when Ruth hit three home runs. The program has a vertical fold, a few small tears and some minor foxing, still a very respectable example of this rare program. Good condition. 2) The St. Louis edition features a colorful illustration of two cardinals on the cover and the interior pages also include composite photos of each team. Unscored. The Cardinals program is in Very Good condition with a single heavy vertical crease. The Cardinals defeated the Yankees in an exciting seven-game series, highlighted by Grover Alexander's "sobering" strikeout of Tony Lazzeri with the bases loaded in the final and deciding game. Total 2 programs. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,508.00
