1954, 1955 & 1956 Brooklyn Dodgers World Series Proof Ticket Collection (30)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,610.00

Amazing collection of thirty full Brooklyn Dodgers World Series ticket proofs dating from 1954 through 1956. This is a very large and gorgeous high grade group of these World Series ticket rarities. All are in Near Mint condition (with just a couple of exceptions as noted). All are fully printed, front and back, and are color-coded according to their seating sections. Since in 1954 the Dodgers did not actually get into the World Series, those two tickets are "phantom" World Series ticket proofs. These phantoms are usually found only one or two at a time. A collection of thirty is unprecedented. The collection includes: 1) 1954 (two phantom tickets): two-ticket panel (still attached along perforation) for Games 1 and 2 (minor clip at one corner on Game 2 ticket otherwise both Nr/Mt). 2) 1955 (ten full tickets): three diff. (pavilion reserved) for Games 4, 5 and "X,"; three diff. ("president's box") for Games 3, 4 and "X"; and a four-ticket panel (lower stand reserved) for Games 3, 4, 5, and "X." Game 3 individual ticket with clip in lower right corner, otherwise Nr/Mt. 3) 1956 (eighteen full tickets): four diff. (box seats) for Games 1, 2, 6, and 7; four diff. (upper stand box) for Games 1, 2, 6, and 7; four assorted (lower stand box) which are two each for Games 2 and 6; one (upper stand reserved) for Game 7; three assorted (lower stand reserved) for Games 1 and 2 (two, with one autographed in felt tip by Duke Snider); and two diff. (president's box) for Games 1 and 2. All Nr/Mt. This is an extraordinary collection of complete Dodgers World Series proof tickets, dating from the team's glory years in the mid-1950s. Total 30 tickets. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $2,610.00
