1949 All-Star Game Collection (4)

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $1,044.00

Collection of four items from the 1949 All-Star game at Ebbets Field. This lot includes the program, press pin, and two tickets. Armed with this lot, you'll feel like you were there! 1) The program is Vg-Ex, and neatly scored. 2) The press pin is in flawless Near Mint to Mint condition. This is one of Balfour's earliest pins, and a particularly scarce press pin of the era. 3) Two ticket stubs. Both of these tickets were very carefully preserved and each are in about Excellent condition. An interesting note about the 1949 All-Star Game is that this game marked the very first appearance of black ballplayers on the field in a Major League All-Star game. Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, and Don Newcombe took the field for the Nationals; Larry Doby for the Americans. In light of this, it is particularly appropriate that this game was played in Brooklyn at Ebbets Field. Total 4 items. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,044.00
