1956 PM15 "Yellow Basepath" GEM MINT 10 PSA Collection (7)
Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $4,640.00
Seven incredible ultra high-grade Gem Mint examples from the very popular PM15 "Yellow Basepath" pin set, each graded GEM MINT 10 by PSA. Six of the seven pins are the only "Yellow Basepath" examples that have ever been graded PSA GEM MINT 10. (A second example of Zernial exists which has also been graded Gem Mint 10 by PSA.) The collection is comprised of the following: Gene Baker, Gil Hodges, Minnie Minoso, Don Newcombe, Robin Roberts, Vern Stephens, and Gus Zernial. This is an extraordinary group of 1956 "Yellow Basepath" pins. Because this is a lithographic pin issue, with the design printed directly on metal, as opposed to a celluloid pin issue, PM15s scratch very easily and are rarely found in extremely high grade, let alone in GEM MINT condition. Without question the finest examples in the world of these popular and very scarce 1950s baseball pinbacks, this collection of seven pins represents exactly half of the entire population of 14 PM15 pins that, as of this writing, have ever been graded GEM MINT 10 by PSA. Diameter of each: 7/8 inch. Total 7 pins. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$4,000. SOLD FOR $4,640.00
