1989 Dave Righetti New York Yankees Signed Home Pinstripe Jersey
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,044.00
Dave Righetti wore this Yankees home pinstripe jersey in 1989. Righetti joined the Yankees in 1981 and quickly established himself, earning the AL Rookie of the Year honors. Righetti went on to become the Yankees all-time leader in saves (until this past year when Mariano Rivera passed Righetti on the Yankees all-time save leaders list). In the neck of the jersey is a white label reading "Righetti 89 1" in blue chain stitch. This denotes player, year, and set number, respectively. Below this label Righetti has signed the jersey in black Sharpie marker and the signature grades an "8" overall. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" label and adjacent is the flag tag with the size "46" and the "1" shorter" tag below it. On the left front breast is the Yankees "NY" logo. On the back of the jersey is the player number "19." On the left sleeve is a number "1" commemorating the death of Billy Martin. Martin died in December 1989, so it is apparent that this jersey was worn in the beginning of the 1990 spring training, as well as the 1989 season. The logo and numbers are blue tackle twill. The jersey shows light game use and has no alterations. SCD Authentic Grade: A5. LOAs from Dave Bushing & Dan Knoll/SCD Authentic and James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,044.00
