Pre-1900 Hall of Famer Card Collection (11)

Starting Bid - $1,500.00, Sold For - $8,120.00

Collection of eleven Hall of Famers from six different classic nineteenth-century issues. Ten of the eleven cards have been graded and encapsulated by PSA as follows: 1) Four 1887 N172 Old Judge: Billy Hamilton - Kansas City (GOOD 2), Jim O'Rourke (PR-FR 1), Old Hoss Radbourn (GOOD 2), and Sam Thompson - Detroit (GOOD 2). 2) Three 1887 N28 Allen & Ginter: John Clarkson (EX-MT 6), Tim Keefe (VG 3) and Mike Kelly (EX 5 MK). 3) 1887 N284 Gold Coin: John Clarkson - ball at chest (small portions of poster-style letters in top left corner suggest this card has been cut from a Buchner Gold Coin advertising poster, but advertising on back is complete which we would normally not asscociate with a card cut from poster. Nice looking card, a couple of stray pencil marks, otherwise Vg, not graded by PSA due to very slightly irregular cut.). 4) 1888 N162 Goodwin Champions: Dan Brouthers (VG 3). 5) Two 1895 N300 Mayo's Cut Plug: Ed Delehanty (PR-FR 1) and Amos Rusie, correct spelling variation (VG 3). This is a very impressive collection of pre-1900 Hall of Famers, most with eye appeal far superior to their technically accurate grades. Total 11 cards. Reserve $1,500. Estimate $3,000/$5,000. SOLD FOR $8,120.00
