1955 Brooklyn Dodgers Schaefer Beer Advertising Display
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $580.00
This classic self-framed 1950s cardboard advertising piece with easel-stand reverse features a die-cut team picture of the World Champion 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers. The uniquely designed display is composed of three individual photos of players (each representing a different row), with players die-cut, and with each row spaced so as to create a three dimensional effect. The elaborate design of this fragile cardboard display piece makes it extremely susceptible to damage and it is rarely, if ever, found in anything even approaching Mint condition. This example is better than most, but not without various condition problems upon close inspection. The frame has a couple of tears and players have neck creases (most very minor), as is usually the case with this display. Don Zimmer (second player from the left in the first row) has a crease that runs vertically from his chest to the bottom border. Despite the various minor flaws, this is still a very attractive example of this classic Brooklyn Dodgers Schaefer Beer advertising piece. Bright and clean with tremendous colors. Ideal for display. Very Good condition overall. Dimensions: 20.75 x 13 inches. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $580.00
