1989 Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls Shooting Shirt
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $4,060.00
Over the course of Michael Jordan's first five seasons in the NBA he had clearly earned the title of the the league's best player. If, by some chance, anyone chose to refute that claim at the time, they were quickly rebuffed by his 1989-90 campaign. Jordan once again led the NBA in scoring (33.6 ppg) and also flashed his brilliance on the defensive end, leading the league in steals (2.77 per game). That season also marked the finest scoring performance of his career; a 69 point outburst against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was later honored at season's end by being named to both the All-NBA First Team and the NBA All-Defensive First Team. This Chicago Bulls red knit pullover warmup shooting shirt was manufactured for Michael Jordan specifically for his use during that memorable season. The shirt is lettered "Bulls" across the front and features the number "23" on the reverse. "Jordan" is lettered on the reverse above the number. The front letters have been screened in black on white paint, while the reverse numbers have been heat applied in black on white vinyl. The name has been heat applied in white vinyl letters. The Bulls team logo appears on each sleeve. Located in the collar are the following tags: a MacGregor/Sand-Knit 46 label; an exclusive label that reads "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for Chicago Bulls," an "89" year tag; a tag that records the custom cut of the garment, "3" LB;" and a blank white strip tag. The NBA patch is located on the upper right chest. The shirt is original and unaltered, displaying light wear throughout. Graded A5 by MEARS. LOA from Dave Bushing & Troy Kinunen/MEARS. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $4,060.00
