Nineteenth-Century Flintlock Boot Pistol

Most likely Scottish in origin, this attractive brass-barrel boot pistol features a small spring-action bayonet attachment. The flintlock pistol (approximately .45 caliber) has a 4.25-inch long rifled barrel that easily unscrews. "London" is engraved on one side of the pistol, while the other side bears an engraving that appears to read "Murray." The piece displays a number of nicks, abrasions, scratches along the barrel. Excellent condition overall. Total length: 9.5 inches. Reserve: $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $1,624.00
