Neil Armstrong Signed Baseball & Photo Framed Display

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $3,480.00

This framed display showcases the signature of Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon. Armstrong's signature appears on both a baseball and a color photograph, with both magnificently presented together in an elaborate framed display. Armstrong has signed the ONL (Feeney) ball on a side panel, with the blue ink signature grading "9." The ball bears a number of black marker notations on both the adjacent side panels as well as the ball label. Because of the manner in which the ball is mounted, the notations on the side panels can only be partially read. One panel reveals the word "moon," while the opposite panel displays the word "Mars." The notation "7th Anniversary" appears on the ball label. The visible portion of the ball is in Excellent to Mint condition. The Near Mint photo (8" x 10") pictures Armstrong posing in his spacesuit and has been signed in bold blue Sharpie (grading "10"). Off all the celebrated astronauts in American history, Armstrong remains the most famous, as well as the most reluctant signer. Armstrong has shunned numerous signing shows over the years and his signature on any item, especially a baseball, is both rare and desirable. This is an extraordinary signed display commemorating one of the most heroic figures in American history. Total dimensions: 19.5 x 27.5 inches. LOA from Steve Grad & John Reznikoff/PSA DNA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $3,480.00
