1920s Buddy-L Fire Truck #205 & Keystone Packard U.S. Army Truck #48 (2)
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,276.00
Offered are two classic and highly desirable 1920s toy trucks: a Buddy-L Fire Truck #205 and a Keystone Packard U.S. Army Truck #48. The Buddy-L Fire Truck #205 (circa 1925) is an early version and features a crane lift, hose spool and two of the four original ladders. The truck is all original (including the "CFD" emblems on each side), with the exception of the boom (appears to have been either replaced or restored) and the twine used for the hose and crane. The Keystone Packard U.S. Army Truck #48 (circa 1927) is all original including its canvas top and the "U.S. Army" decals on each side of the truck. The fire truck measures 28 inches in length. The Army truck measures 26 inches. Both trucks are in perfect working order, with all movable parts (steering wheel, wheels, crane etc.) fully functional. Each displays normal wear commensurate with its age and former use, including a few scratches, minor paint loss, and oxidation to the exposed metal parts. Overall the fire truck is in Very Good condition, and the Army truck grades Good to Very Good (due to both greater paint loss and general wear). Two scarce original examples dating from the golden age of toy trucks. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000.
